  • Saucy, but Adeline needs strength

    I liked the book. It provided a good weekend read. But, like other reviewers, I too skipped through large chunks of the book due to the main character’s immaturity. She doesn’t read like a 30 year old at all. Also, I was hoping Adeline would find a way to show her ability to rule and enforce change rather than everything working out for her. Josh was the more intriguing character and I wish more chapters were written from his point of view.

    👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑 That’s right, The Controversial Princess gets the 10 crown rating. That being said....this was my first book by Ms. Malpas and what a first one to start with!!! Right out of the gate, the intensity and attraction between Adeline and Josh was hot!!!! The Hotness did not stop through the entire book.....I mean, the entire book!!!! Josh’s “control” and “dominance” was, well, pretty HOT in itself and a major turn on. Adeline’s presence and self “knowledge” was a breath of fresh air!!! I loved how she knew what she wanted and she was going to get it, no matter what!! Now, the cliffy.....can I just say HOLY H*LL!!!! How am I going to wait for the release of His True Queen???? Ms. Malpas has a new and loyal fan right here!

  • The Fall

    What a pleasure it was to get to know these two characters. While there’s still more to find out because there are LOTS of unanswered questions I’m looking forward to the twists and turns Jodi lays out for us. Josh clearly is smitten at first sight and he’s not taking no for an answer. He’s quite determined to make this relationship work when the odds are not in either of their favors. Adeline takes the fast track on the fall from grace but has she? She’s taking some serious losses and I hope her duty allows her to love Mr. Jamison to the fullest. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Now we just have to wait and see how strong that will is.

    Right when I think I have read my favorite Jodi Ellen Malpas book, she releases another gripping read. The Controversial Princess has it all...passion, laughter, and suspense. I only wish I could make the book last longer! I cannot wait till August to see how Adeline and Josh work this out.

  • Disappointed in whiny, drunken princess

    Love other books written by this author but this one gets a big thumbs down. The main character was very irritating. Whiny, immature and weak. If the book didn't tell us she was thirty, I would guess her to be 18 or 19. And what's with her constantly guzzling wine by the bottle? Found myself skimming through large portions of this book.
