Description

The sunroom at the back of the house is just as I remember. I can’t taste homemade lemonade or smell oatmeal cookies without thinking of home, of the beautiful cliffs of Martino Bay, and I feel welcomed. But all thoughts of a happy family reunion are destroyed the moment I see him…

He’s as handsome as I remember: broad shoulders, piercing blue eyes, hair the colour of burnt toffee.

The man who once meant the world to me. The reason I fled eleven years ago. I’ve never told anyone the terrible mistake I made that night. The secret we share. I’m still haunted by the crashing waves at the bottom of the cliffs, the blood…

But what is he doing at my sister’s house?

And then I see her. My baby sister. She smiles, she tips her hand so I can see the ring. And his arm slides around her waist, pulling her close…

A twisty and emotional domestic thriller for fans of Liane Moriarty, Kerry Fisher and Sally Hepworth from USA Today bestselling author Nicola Marsh. It will keep you turning the pages deep into the night absorbed in every last word.

After a ten year absence, Brooke has returned home for her sister’s wedding. Her cousin Lizzie had asked her to come back but Brooke had doubts. She should have. Her arrival sets in motion almost unbelievable events that change her family forever. Almost as soon as Brooke arrives, her sister Freya introduces her to her fiancé Riker. He’s the man Brooke fell instantly in love with ten years ago. When she confessed to her boyfriend Eli, he ended their relationship and committed suicide. Horrified and griefstricken, Brooke left her home in San Martino. Freya, always in Brooke’s shadow and viciously jealous of her sister, stayed in town, became a respected nurse, volunteer and single mother to her daughter Hope. As Brooke navigates her relationship with Freya, she becomes concerned that Alice, the aunt who raised her, has a suspicious early onset dementia and is failing under Freya’s controlling care. She vows to stay in San Martino until she can have Alice independently assessed. Meanwhile, she hopes that reminding Alice of events from her past will help her be more aware in the present. After discovering the password to Alice’s computer, she learns much more about Alice - secrets that have been long buried. Secrets that will lead to a dangerous confrontation. My Sister’s Wedding is told in three voices: Brooke, Freya and Alice. Brooke’s voice dominates and you share her confusion and disbelief as secrets are revealed. While I thought some of the action was over the top and wildly dramatic, this thriller pulled me in and kept me turning pages as fast as I could. 4 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Nicola Marsh for this ARC.

4.5 stars This was one amazing page-turner, full of secrets, secrets, and more secrets. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough. This is the story of two sets of sisters. The first set is Alice and Diana and the second set is Brooke and Freya, the daughters of Diana. In each set of sisters, one wants what the other has. How far will they go to get what they want? I’m not going to leave any spoilers because I highly recommend reading this fantastic book for yourself, but I will say, you will be surprised by some of the secrets that are revealed. I will say that I didn’t really care for the ending. I know this was a longer book, but I still felt like there needed to be more, lol. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture and this is my voluntary and honest review.
