Devlin and Ellie are back in the second book of the Fallen Saint series and it is a whirlwind. It is not a standalone and the books must be read in order. Ellie has made up her mind that she is standing by her man but knows that he still harbors some secrets, heck he told her as much. Nevertheless, Devlin gives Ellie permission to tell both of her best friends the truth about him and this solidifies their relationship, making them even stronger. However, Ellie is a reporter at her core and is going to continue her story to look into her uncle’s past to uncover his secrets. Will Devlin be able to keep Ellie safe or will she fall down the rabbit hole? This is one drama filled read with twists that you will not see coming. If you think you figured it out, guess again. I cannot wait for this to come full circle and see what Ms. Kenner has coming with the final installment “My Cruel Salvation” coming in May.

“A woman he would always fight for, even if it meant fighting her." This series is getting better and better and deeper and deeper. As you find out the answers to some of your questions more things get revealed and then you have even more questions. In the meantime, back at the ranch...oh wait, that's another story. Back in sexy Devlin's Saint's bed, yeah, that works better. I wish I could share that part, but it's something you need to read for yourself. As well as...back against the wall...back in the shower...in the back of the limo. You get the idea, right? 😉 Just having a bit of fun since this is a romantic suspense novel and I can't give you any details without spoiling the experience for you. What I can tell you is that Saint is no saint. He's dirty and delicious and demanding and would do ANYTHING to protect the woman he loves. He has so many secrets and he's holding on to them for good reason. Just wait, you'll understand... Eventually. This is not the end, and I don't know how far we'll go before it is. I'll just say that the author is a very talented writer who likes D, and I do too. Get your mind out of the gutter, I'm talking about her unforgettable romantic heroes, Damien and Devlin. Damien was her first, but I have no doubt that Devlin will be just as popular with her readers. I know he is with me. I can't wait to spend more time with him in My Cruel Salvation. There aren’t many authors who write books that are part of a continuing series that I’m willing to read but Ms Kenner’s books are one of my exceptions. I’m not talking about a series that features different couples in a familiar setting, family, friends, and such. I’m talking about ones that have cliffhangers that continue in the next book. I don’t have the patience and sometimes they go on forever. There’s enough suspense with some resolution in each book to keep a reader looking for more, knowing or hoping for a full resolution by the end of the last book in their story. Ellie and Devlin have similarities to Damien and Nikki but are also totally different. In this book, their feelings and their trust in each other deepen and grow. Their resolve to be together and need for each other keeps getting stronger. Who can they trust with their secrets and lives? But, as usual, once you think things are alright and settled, then, BAM! Can’t wait for the next installment!

This is the second book in the series. This book answers a lot of your questions. Just not all of them. It is still hot and sexy and you will enjoy My Beautiful Sin just as must as the first book. Ellie is still trying to find answers about her uncle in this story. There is a lot secrets Devlin has that is is not sure he wants to share with Ellie. I hope you find this book as enjoyable as I did.

Wow! Loved getting to see these two together through the good and the bad and seeing them survive all the truths that could’ve quickly ended them. Put the danger amps up even more in this book and whoever it is, will they see it coming before it is too late? As Ellie keeps pushing for more information even Devlin is thrown off by the truth and some of the consequences. But when all is laid out, how will they survive in this new reality? Loved all the twists and turns and the heady sensation of being fully present and utterly on the edge of my seat as we get so many more answers, but still more questions. I cant wait until the next book and it is never quite soon enough!

I really like that we got some quality time with Devlin and Ellie as a couple in book 2. Now that Devlin had decided he can’t live with out her, we see more of these two side by side against the danger. You don’t really know if the danger is about Ellie stirring up the past or that it’s made public that she is dating Devlin. You also get a sense of an enemy from within. I had it narrowed down to two possible people and was a bit surprised by how book 2 ended. I like that it wasn’t completely predictable. I am very curious how Devlin and Ellie are going to handle the new hurdle for book 3. I have a feeling of how such a secret came to light and I’m anxious to see if I’m right.

OMG! I was on the edge of my seat for the last half of the book! Twists, turns and a surprise whodunit. Although it is a cliffhanger it doesn’t leave you totally hanging. Even better than the first book. I can’t even begin to imagine what happens in the next book “My Cruel Salvation” out in May! As with “My Fallen Saint”, the characters are well written, the plot(s) intriguing and Elle & Devlin scorching. I certainly hope this is going to be a series and not just a trilogy.

3.5 Stars... This book picks up were My Fallen Saint left off, and even though it's been a while since the first book premiered, the author does a solid recap to refresh the reader's memory. There is definitely chemistry between Elle and Devlin. Devlin's breaking stereotypes of the billionaire heroes because even though he is still hiding some information from Elle, he let's her know that, and everywhere else he is actually very open and honest with her. There are some plot twists, things I did not see coming, but not all mysteries have been solved yet. The dynamic between Elle and her friends, and Devlin and his friends and the way they all mesh is great; however, there is some stuff that isn't sitting well with me in this book. First off, Elle is an ex-cop and an investigative report and sometimes she seems so oblivious, other times she figures it all. When she does fully figure certain things out, the author doesn't always provide the connecting of the dots. Also Elle has a permit to carry a weapon, yet everyone keeps scaring the crap out of her (not intentionally, but still). For someone who is all about keeping his identity a secret, there are a lot of people who seem to know who Devlin really is, and the discussions aren't always occurring in private areas were no one could over hear them. While the sexy times in this book were better than the first, I still found a lot of them to be a little underwhelming compared to previous books from this author, so I guess that's just the direction that the author is going for this trilogy. The story itself is very good and I can't wait to see where the final book takes us.

But he’s the man who knocked me asunder in the first place, and I’ve completely lost my anchor.” What happens when you are fighting to build back your trust. When there is doubt lingering in the background. When you want to believe in the fairytale, but the truth keeps nudging ahead. Does the end justify the means? How far can things go before you can no longer look the other way? Does love conquer all? “He’s describing me. Not the illegal stuff, of course. But the dance with the devil. That thrill that comes from doing something dangerous and surviving.” Unfortunately, I did make it until there were no longer pages to flip and now I’m once again anxiously awaiting release day...My Cruel Salvation May 2021!
